This lot comes to us from the producers at Gold Mountain Coffee, based out of Finca Idealista in Jinotega Nicaragua. Gold Mountain was started with the mission of helping farmers increase their quality through on the ground hands-on training, and then connecting those farmers to buyers in the US and EU looking for high quality coffees. Frustrated by slow progress, founder Ben Weiner decided the fastest way to make an impact at origin would be to buy his own farm and production mill and thus Finca Idealista was born. This coffee is a community lot comprised of many different coffees from the community around Finca Idealista in Jinotega. Community lots can often get out of control and have wildly different levels of quality, but the attention to detail and excellent production standards at Gold Mountain have created a super clean and sweet finished product.

Altitude - 1300 - 1600 masl
Harvest - Summer 2019
Approach - We roast this coffee on the lighter side, mostly to highlight the wonderful citrus acidity, but mostly because this coffee is so sweet and delicious it doesn’t need much work from us to shine. We’ve taken this to a “medium-rare” level that should give you plenty of brightness in the cup, but also loads of great sweetness and a nice lingering body. Mmmmm.
